There are lots of reasons that different people come to trials, but there are a couple of things that will surely have them not show up. 1. Judges. You don't need to have the most prestigious judges in the country to keep people coming to your trials. What you need is a good honest judging panel. Mo...

I dont think its so much the fact that the older judges dont want to take the test or attend a seminar. Probably more the fact that lots of them have put in lots of years judging and it's just time to do something else. Couple this attrition rate with the requirements to make new judges and the decl...

He told me not to fix him if he is going to hunt. That surely has to be the dumbest thing I've ever heard. If a dog is neutered or not doesnt make one bit of difference in the hunting ability of a dog. Over the years I've hunted over many many dogs, most intact, some not. The breeding, the exposure...

Fork out the extra and get Michelins. I have never had anything but superb luck with this brand. Be it on various cars and trucks they offer good ride, good traction, low noise and excellent treadwear. I love my O/Us but when late season Dakota pheasants are the quarry and its cold out, I slum it with a 12 gauge autoloader with a youth stock on it. Without the added layers of clothing I cant hit crap with that gun but when suited up for cold weather it works pretty well.

AKC wants folks to "follow the yellow brick road" or do you feel like the AF allows more leeway? This is the general feeling. Amen Ray.Most of all...have fun...at the event and during the event. Cut the dog loose and let it do what it is going to do. Your dog is a puppy...it can do NO wrong. Repeat that mantra a couple times before you get to run and once more as you get ready to cut it loose.
