Inside! All four of them. All but one are crated when we are not home. When home and inside, I do have to rotate my two younger males or it turns into WWF.

Wanna know anything else? If a tree falls in the woods..... sorry.. You sure have done your research. Seems a lot we do as sporting dog owners with puppies can possibly contribute to the likelyhood of HD in a geniticly predisposed dog. For years I have feed a high protein puppy chow to various pups...

I have found an interesting statement in the OFFA breeders guide to the use of the database... Kasstrom, and later Kealy, reported that a higher than needed caloric intake during the rapid growth phase may result in earlier and more severe dysplastic changes when the genetic potential for dysplasia ...

Interesting... I am guessing that free feeding leads to fast growth as a young pup. The fast growth then does not allow the hips to form properly?

I am curious since vets have recommended that puppies be fed less and allowed to grow slower. This seems to support that.

There are exceptions to every rule. And, I'll be looking for your dogs. If I make it to Nationals as an observer maybe we can share an adult beverage. :P Buckeye_V, I changed my mind about the VCA Nats this year but hope to make it to the NVA Nats in March. It is tooooo stinking hot down here to ge...

One example.... I have competed and tested for a few years. Earned an MH title, have earned FT points but never earned an FC or AFC before retiring my older dog. I have two young dogs that have been and will be (next issue) in the VCA Top Ten.... But I have never run in an All Age stake. Prior to th...

I have to ask.... will you be paying money to have that judge look at your dog again? Maybe the judge never handled at the level you were testing. Could a person not mentor under a good judge, observing in a non-judge position, for a period of time and become a good judge as well? The good judge wou...

Second, just because you handle a dog to a placement does not mean you will have what it takes to judge - either. That is a pretty broad statement that applies to any part of a judged sport or test. The good judges rise to the top by reputation and by people sending entries and PAYING for their opi...

Buckeye_V, In the mean time I suggest apprenticing every chance you get. Or volunteer to gun. Both are incredible ways to learn.

If improving quality reduces the pool of judges then "oh well". Improved judge quality will improve title legitimacy.

Greg, This is great if it can be enforced.

I would like to see this done with Hunting Tests too. I want a person that has achieved an MH to judge one.

Bryce, Watch to see if the SLVC has a training day. It is a great way to reinforce backing. The idea is to get your dog to understand that a standing dog means birds. I train with a launcher and one planted. I want to send the message to my dog that there are more then one out there so stay staunch....

You will enjoy the SLVC. Lets do the last question first.. With a single course with a bird field you hunt together until the bird field UNLESS you or your bracemate has birdwork that splits you up. Many times unless the dogs are at different ranges, you will end up together until the birdfield. Som...

Bryce, Good for you for training to a higher level. You sound like you are on the right track. A couple things I have seen as a hunt test judge that you should at least think about if possible. I dont know about anyone one else but I tend to get tunnel vision in a HT or FT. 1. Remember the clock is ...

I have a Garmin GPS V. It is the first product you listed.

I love it. I use it for trail riding as well as travelling.

It has been a while but seems to me I had to pay extra for detailed maps. THe new version has North America detail.

Hey Mary!

I am sure Hank runs right up there with them. I have Toby (Ed X Deja) coming out this year for his first gun dog season and Tagg (Axel X Kansas) is still able to run Derby until June. We are looking at branching out of the AKC trials to see if the boys can run in AF. Do you ever run in NVA events? G...

Just curious if there are many (if any) vizsla folks here competing in American Field events.

Anyone here running AF or NVA?

Tagg's mother NAFC NGDC FC AFC Onpoint's Fulluv Gust O won the Gun dog Stake. His father FC Onpoints Spinning...
