I avoid gadgets and gizmos....so the above may be considered "every day necessities".

I own several Benellis and appreciate their reliability. The weight concern was more to do with the 4.9lbs and shooting mechanics of the sport. Recoil doesnt bother me... IF someone is moving but one or two ruffed grouse in a day while in good cover with good dogs then someone might be wise to not hunt....as late season in the Apps. is not the time to either shoot a bird or flush them so causing the bird to expend needed energy and to open them up to avian predation....
