Nothing wrong with that analogy. Made me laugh. Just no Richard Simmons stuff ok?

The muscle dog's name is Spot. So Spot spots for spot. Ew, should have stopped while I was ahead.

Good question. This is not weight training in the sense of an Olympic weight trainer getting to a 600 lb. bench press. The purpose is not to bulk up. My remark about the football sized thigh muscles is exaggeration. They just look that big because of the muscle definition. Roading would be more comp...

Brittany-

GET THAT DOG INTO THE VET RIGHT NOW. THE REACTION YOU ARE SEEING IS POTENTIALLY LIFE THREATENING. IT IS A MEDICAL EMERGENCY. HOPE I DID NOT SEE YOUR POST TOO LATE.

Bet they had thigh muscles to size of small footballs too. Like to see the big runners in marathon shape, but agree with QC it becomes an issue to not let too much weight drop off them. Standard weight program for a dog in the 50-55 lb. category would be to pull 8 lb. for starters and work up to twe...

Not a vet, and maybe am just speculating, but did go through some discussions with Red Rock recently about the vaccine and its coverage. Then someone raised an issue on a board about what snakes specifically are covered by the vaccine. I sent them to Red Rock, and the fellow reported back that the M...

One issue that I think this thread illustrates, is what does "train" mean. I see people saying that the old timers would not "train" a dog until a year old. Honestly, that is just incorrect. They might wait to break a dog, and to do hard core yard work. But they would have pup in the field at a few ...

I have to say, this was a little bit of a frustrating thread to read, because lots of people were confusing when to teach sit with whether to teach sit. Not smart to teach a pointing dog to sit early, before whoa. Yes, you can many times get away with it. But if you train enough dogs you will run in...
