Re: Where are all the flushing lab owners ?
I hunted with my previous lab for 12 years, right alongside my britt, loved every minute of it. Hunted him on dove, waterfowl, prairie chicken, phez, quail, hung. partridge, sharptail, and he retrieved a fall turkey for me, theres nothing they cant do. No matter what we were hunting he was as good as...

Ballistic Products is where I buy my steel reloading items from, the Helarco steel shot wads they sell are less expensive than most others and I have had great luck with them. When hunting WMA areas in Montana you have to shoot steel, I reload 7/8 oz #4 at 1690 fps in a 2 3/4" Fiocchi hull, plenty g...

I bought some of the ikam glasses to try out. They shoot pretty good video, tried them while goose hunting last year, unfortunately I did not charge the batteries all the way before we hunted. A friend of mines lab has a murmer, was found about 4 years ago. She still hunts with us, but he has to be smart in the way he uses her. I am not a big fan of the FC wad used in those shells. Clean your barrel real good and shoot them again, a dirty barrel seems to affect those wads more than a normal wad. If not try an extended choke tube(Carlsons,Trulock,Briley) with a longer forcing cone, will probably help out.

The day I picked up the retrieving dummy and my lab did not get up, I knew it was time. I hunted a lab and britt together for many years, they both went about their business as usual never competing for birds, adding a lab to the mix did nothing to hinder the pointing dogs, as long as it is well trained, a well trained flusher is an asset to any hunting group.

I use my A-5 Sweet 16 duck hunting, fun to shoot. I had the choke opened to a LM and shoot nothing bigger than 4 shot, the bigger the shot the more likely a problem is to occur. If you reload I also use mylar wraps in the shotcup and load no more than 7/8 oz of shot.

On any smaller ducks #4 shot would be fine, and any bigger ducks over decoys they would be fine also.
