Re: Broken Nails
You are several weeks from it healing, and uncovered even longer. I had two dogs break off toe nails last summer. Get the bleeding stopped: put super glue on it, then a dog boot, then duct tape. Make sure you get skin when you go over the dog boot. You will probably have to redue this several times....

That is just South Dakota wild pheasants for you. Private ground is the same way. In 3 years of hunting out there I can think of very few roosters shot over a point. It is not pointing dog country I dont care what anyone has to say. And yes you will walk your "bleep" off to get the birds.

North central South Dakota (Webster - Aberdeen area) is probably the densest area of walkin areas and there are a lot of birds as well. Take her. Get her used to the routine. Riding in a kennel, hearing shots, other dogs, etc. Take her out just you and the pup, no one else for an hour or so per day. If she points a bird, kill it. If she doesn't point, but chases and gets excited, don't scold the pup, encourage her. Get that hunting...

You could give 1/10cc of 1% ivermectin, orally, and that will be way plenty to control HW's. If you really want to dial it in: 0.5 ml of ivomec cattle wormer (1%) 49.5 ml of propylene glycol RESULTING CONCENTRATION: 100 mcg per ml DOSAGE FORMULA: Dog's weight X 2, then divide by 100 = # of cc to gi...

kninebirddog, I understand what you are saying now. When you said it would kill heartworms, I took it like you meant that if I took a dog to the vet and it was positive for heartworms (adult) then all you have to do was give it some ivermectin and the dog would be fine.
