I believe Priefert makes some along with others. For a direct purchase, go to your local farms supply store (Atwoods, Tractor Supply, etc.). I've seen many of them have them in stock. Otherwise you could special order.

Each dog is different. Biggest caution is to make sure your pup isn't carrying too much weight...big boned or not. Extra weight puts unnecessary stress on joints of a growing dog; though by 7 months shouldn't be doing a whole lot more. You should be able to feel ribs about halfway back on his ribcag...

Here's a picture of how I have my Dakota set up, with a standard topper. You could fit an Intermediate size plastic crate beside the wire crate and possibly two large plastics. It's a whole lot cheaper than a dog specific topper or a trailer. Though I did build my own trailer. Hope this helps. http:...

I read an article yesterday on a researcher at the University of Illinois, who found a way to turn hog manure into a type of crude oil. Once refined, burned like diesel. The article went on to say the average hog creates 6 gallons of waste per day and there are over 100 million hogs in the U.S. Once...
Most dogs can tell the difference between wild and pen raised birds. Pen raised just plain stink. Try using a variety of birds, beginning with trapped pigeons. The key it to not have too many and keep them in a place they can't get fouled with their own poop. If you haven't already, work on whoa bra...

Its never too late. As long as you have been working on basic obedience and haven't allowed any bad habits to start, you should do fine. What exactly do you mean by hun test training class? Whoa is exactly the meaning of the word, the dog stops when you give it the command. It can be used anywhere i...

I have had a professional trainer show me a method for teaching whoa to a dog and only requires a post, check cord and a leash and collar. Attach the check cord and leash to the collar. Run the check cord along the underside of the dog and do a half-hitch around the dog's loin. Leave about 10' of sl...

Its unfortunate so many of the Sporting breeds have two distinct lines...one show, one field. If you follow the addage that "form follows function" a dog with proper conformation will have an easier time in the field and shouldn't have as many muscle/skeletal issues. My girl is an AKC Bench Champion...

Every dog uses their nose while on walks... Any dog has the potential to run agility, it just depends on their level of trainability. My girl earned the third leg of her JH title today. Definitely an accomplishment considering it was 90 degrees when she started her run.

Yes, many breeds have large swings in the price charged for pups. Hunt and field trial titles are good when looking for some of the natural and more of the training potential for a dog. Even most conformation champions have been groomed to a point of hiding their faults. More importantly to look for...

Don't get stuck on using the parent's weights as a measure for your own dog. Yes, it will give you an idea of potential size but remember every dog is different. How old is yours? If less than 6 mo, still has some growing to do. If over 6 mo, it may take another 6 to 12 or more for him to mature and...

There are some folks out there who don't run AKC sanctioned events with their dogs and you may be overlooking another great source. Also look at a dog's NAVHDA testing results when considering the parentage. If you find UT1 or VC, you'll find a strong field dog. I believe the NAVHDA tests are much m...

You don't need to use a really heavy chain. Use the same size as on your stakes. I'd suggest not using the caribiner. You'll need something with a built-in swivel to prevent the dogs from getting the chain wrapped up tight. For you stakes, use your individual tie out stakes for this if you aren't go...
