Re: Looking for a Brittany breeder.

Give Ann Marie Martucci a call. She has an ad in the "Dogs for sale" section. She's in the Jackson, NJ area, and has some really top notch pups on the ground right now. Sire is a 2 x NGDC, Dam is the littermate to another NGDC. Those pups should do it all, and are only a couple hours from you. http...

Thanks for the replies so far everyone. It's nice to have a comprehensive list to start with. I'll start making phone calls after the holidays and attend some navhda tests and hunt tests in the spring hopefully to some of the dogs in action.

Looking for a Brittany breeder.

Need some recommendations on Brittany breeders within a half day drive of South Central PA. I am looking for a Britt that will hunt well with my setter, but at a closer range, and waterfowl. The first ingredient listed is "chicken". Doesn't that mean it is the main ingredient and there is more chicken than anything else in the food? I was comparing it to nutro high energy all life stages which cost more and the first ingredient is chicken meal, although they are both 30/20. So i figure...

I am quite aware it is your opinion and you are welcome to that but your assumptions are not based on anything but that opinion. You can't tell how much chicken or gluten is being used, you can not make a cse for how much animal verses vegetable protein is best for today's dog, and you sure can't m...

There is no way we can tell how much of the protein comes from animal or vegetable from the list of ingredients. Would be my guess you would find they are getting as much from the chicken as they are from the corn? As far as why they use what they do, I would guess they are able to provide the same...

Corn Gluten isn't really gluten as we know it today. The name has been around for 60 years and more. All it is is the corn with the hull and starch removed. It is a great feed and has been for all of these years. Ezzy Ok. Why not just use chicken meal and whole grain corn then instead of chicken an...

I also agree with the other posters that it could be too much food. I would cut bck to around 3c per day for a few days and see how it goes. If the dog starts losing weight then increase the amount of food slowly until weight is maintained or stools loosen up.

As Mike said, it all comes down to how your dogs do on it. ALS foods work well for pups to old dogs for the most part. There are adult feeds that have high fat/protein as well, but most seem to be als formulas today. A few companies also make a 24/20 food and many people like it.

Dogs are Omnivores. They've evolved as dogs and not wolves. Now meat should be a large part of their diet and the number 1 protein source IN MY OPINION, they do fine and live healthy happy lives with grains, berries, and veggies mixed in.

100% protein diet would kill a dog. Have with that.
