Re: Opinions wanted on Top Quality dry dog food

Thanks everyone for your opinions, I have gathered some great advice. The main reason that I am considering switching is due to the lack of convenience to get Purina Pro Plan in my area. I am giving serious consideration to switching to Loyall as I can obtain it much easier. The biggest concern is I...

Re: Thoughts on running green broke dogs

IMO -Why give a dog that may break point one more opportunity to be reinforced for breaking with a good chase. Variable reinforcements can kill you on further training. Also, you will have to put more pressure on the dog when you get home and try to take the chase back out of him, which in turn dim...

Where would be the best place to look for the all breed trials that run on the prairies? I have tried googling but there is a lot of information to wade through. Would the Field be the best place to find those and what key areas would be best?

I live in Nebraska too and found much of the same that you did. The number of quail that we ran into surprised me but it was sure a good thing. Is it better to run green broke dogs in Amatuer stakes or Open Stakes?

Do you tell the judge the dog is green broke?

Do you try to avoid certian situations?

Any other thoughts?

V's are no softer than any other dog, sometimes a little smarter. That may ne why they will shutdown to harsh methods. Follow the directions above and use the e-collar properly and you should be fine.

Not sure if we wil be there or not. Dogs are not quite ready to run. Snow may be on the ground in some places but most of it will probably be in drifts. That area has had a bit more snow then we have here in Northern Nebraska and we still have places that are covered. You might want to contact the S...

Quick question We have a new WHV pup and I have been trying to get the dogs out to run them but we have a lot of snow still on the ground. I agree. It is a tough to guarantee which pup will be the best. A lot depends on exposure and training as the pup grows.
