If they really are carpenter bees, they are harmless, except to your boards. I have an old cedar tree right off the porch that is full of them every year. My son's baby swing hangs from that tree, and we walk under it going to our vehicles everyday. Never a problem. The world in general is currently...

I've always used a milk crate or ice chest as a go between. Teach them to load up onto the milk crate/ice chest first. Then load up onto the mild crate and then a second jump onto the tailgate. Sounds like a few trips to the park may be in order. IME the first 80% of the training takes 20% of the time. In other words, the proofing takes a lot longer than the introductions and initial understanding. If you're 98% there, you'll have her finished up in no time.

I agree with all of what's been said. You need to lower your expectations a bit. If she retrieves twice from 5 ft. well, be happy. Don't immediately go for 10 ft. Accept what she will do and don't ask for any more than that for now. Just build it slowly. If she'll only retrieve twice today for a 5 f...

One of the wonderful things about that lab is it's coat. Your dog will be wet on the outside, but it's undercoat and skin will stay dry. Biggest issue I'm usually worried about is getting them to shake off all that water outside the blind and not inside on us and breakfast, and the guns. If you have...

Just curious if anyone out there has ever tried riding bridlless, or in just a halter, without the rope tied around?
