Re: Complete breed registrations. Ranking and 5-year trends
Unless the breeder registers the litter, a very low percentage of family companion/ hunting dogs are registered. Only about twenty percent Of my puppies are registered and most of them are mine. It does not make a lot of sense to me to force a buyer to register and get a NA or junior title on a pup...

As an admitted "Old Timer", I've never understood why people strive to make dog training so complicated. Everything has to have a label which only serves to complicate and confuse more. I have never understood people's needs to do that. It all boils down to when a behavior is rewarded, it's positiv...

When training a force retrieve, the ear pinch or toe rope or what ever is the stimulus that causes the reaction, which is to grab the object. That is the only reaction at the ear pinch stage. I’m not as concerned about the wirehairs, for all I know it’s an aberration; I’d have to see the raw data. Is the difference between 72 and 60 1000 dogs or 100? The Shorthairs do concern me. They are too popular already. When poorly bred, they’re often anxious, tightly wound creatures, traits made f...

How old is the dog? My wirehair was a nightmare to crate train but it was largely my fault. I'd crate her at night, through the night, waking to let her out to potty. Using the tone on the e-collar has nothing to do with any objections with the e-collar, anymore than wood used in gunstocks is a complaint of the Gun Control crowd. Wet pen raised birds often struggle to fly.
He probably pointed, then took them out. And they couldn't fly away. Others will have better ideas how to address, but in the meantime, don't hunt the game farms when its super wet.
