gun dog prices

$1000 is alot of money to me. However, $1000 is pocket change when you compare the cost of a pup to the cost you will spend on that pup in his/her lifetime. Some on here say it doesn't cost much to keep a dog. I disagree. If you take your dog hunting much, you are spending money to get there/back, f...

lab jumping in truck

Turbenator, first off, I don't own a lab. But, all my dogs will jump up on the tailgate of the truck if asked to do so. If he's healthy and capable, you can back your truck up to an incline or hill and drop the tailgate. This will shorten the height for him to be able to jump on your tailgate. You m...

Charles, I love your website. It's nice to see your other dogs I have never seen in person. I heard through Mike Grissom that a guy from IL had to drop out of the trial at Selmer, TN. You may want to give Bill Moore a call and see if you can get in now(that is, if you were wanting to run). See you s...

HighnTight Kennel Website

I justed wanted to post my website on here. I've been working on it off and on this past summer. I'm not much on technology, so it took me awhile to get right. It's still a work in progress. But, here it is. I wanted to show it to other bird dog people out in cyberspace. Here's the link. http://www....

Alright, I see how it is now. Talking about other NSTRA Region members, eeh. I'm not coming to ya'll's(is that a word) trial on the 29th. I'll be headed to the AR/LA region to run with those guys. I'm not sure who from the Mid-South is going to run with you guys. I think Mark Smith is judging though...

Mr. Lou

Bobby, I was shocked and saddened by this news. My condolences to the family and those like you who were very close to him. This is a true loss to the bird dog world. He was a true dog man. He knew what he was doing with a bird dog. If I had something puzzling me about a dog, he had the answer. I wi...

Sorry for being so late to respond on this thread. Congrats to all who made to the finals! I saw some nice dog work. I made the first cut with Boss and ended up getting cut Friday. Boss had 2 finds and a back on Friday. He also pointed with 16 seconds to go in that ditch on the A field. So, by the r...

Chief Honcho(English Pointer

Has anyone out there ever seen Chief Honcho run in his day? He was a direct son of Miller's Chief. I was wondering what kind of dog he was? I've posted on 2 other boards and no responses yet. Any knowledge. thx.

Do you have a Tractor Supply Store near you? I have seen kennel panels at TSC stores that look decent. They are always on the side of the store on the outside where the fencing is. They aren't as heavy duty as the Priefert kennels, but they may do the job. Just an idea.

Kennel Question

How many people have kennels with a small divider between(down) the runs? Say, for instance, cinder blocks stacked a couple high on the floor and then the fence goes up toward the roof. Or an actual curb poured down the run. If so, what do you use? Concrete curb, cinder blocks, etc. And how high is ...

Snips, Collierville is right outside Memphis. I live about 40 minutes from Collierville, TN. I'm about 40 minutes northeast of Memphis, TN. I would love to come out to Collierville and watch the trail. I'm not sure I will be able to or not. My buddy took his dog out to that trial last year as a derb...

Sonny, Funny you should ask. I was in Tunica, MS back in September. We had been dove hunting at home in TN that morning and all the doves in the state of TN had left. I know this because we passed them as we drove south to Tunica, MS. But, anyhow, we went to gamble in Tunica since we no longer had d...

Congratulations to Major on his first NSTRA Placement! Owned by Bobby Grove of Fieldmaster Shorthairs and Jim Sawyer of Greymont Kennels. He had 4 finds and 4 retrieves. He's a nice young dog. Charles, Boss and I took an early exit. We were beat by the eventual National Champion Burchel's Dutchman. He beat me 2 birds to 0. It just wasn't Boss's day. It was hot and he just wasn't on. He runs a little hard for those type conditions. He seems to do better when its fall. I ran the last brace ...
