Re: First Trial
That is awesome. Very unusal for a first time dog to go out and put up a 4 and 4. I always tell new handlers to be happy if their new dog goes out and consistently puts 2/2 on the card for the first season. Congratulations.

Re: How long would you wait
Doing surgery first thing this morning. Looking at the x-rays it looks like the small intestine may have rolled back into itself with sort of a telescope effect. They know exactly where to go look. I should get a call around noon. I can't blame the vet for anything. They did a good job in my opinion...

THanks. I just talked to the vet. He said he had some good news. The Barium was not making its way through her system. There is something causing a blockage. I say god news because it explains the symptoms and is treatable.

Vet says there is not temperature and no vomiting so he doubts any kind of infection. The odd thing is she acts prettty normal except for not eating and a little less energy due to the lack of food intake. Her stools don't look that bad either. He says he is going to run a Barium (sp?) test on her t...

Yes it's the same dog, and one thing has nothing to do with the other. She always has eaten everything she could get her mouth on. The bird eating things has nothing to do with what she is doing now. It just may have to do with the fact that she was hungry at the time of the trial. This is much diff...

At 6 months let her chase to her hearts content. If your real worried about it loop a check cord around her belly and when she goes on point stake it into the ground. But again at this age I would let her build up as much prey drive as possible. When she gets to be about a year of age I would start ...

Her nose is dry and warm. The color returns to her gums about a second after pressing on them so i don't think it is anemia. She has pretty much just laid in her house with her head hung out the door all night. Like I said she is drinking water, and had solid stools today but still won't eat.

Do not, I repeat, do not nueter him at 6 months old. You nueter him and you change the way the horomones work in his body. Horomones needed to develop him and his body. Look at the number of dogs with ACL injuries, then see how many were nuetered before the age of two. You wanted a hunting dog. If y...
