I was told a planter got paid $100 for a day of planting and $60 if you had your own 4 wheeler, per day. So $160 per day. that is just my understanding of it. I spoke with the president this morning and he confirmed it. I've been to 3 NSTRA trials and they've had the same bird planter every time and...

I asked if I could plant one day and compete the next and they said it wasn't allowed. Cause I'd know where a bird build up might be, but shouldn't I be able to compete the first day and plant the second?

You have to drive a very different pattern after every brace so dogs can't just follow the 4 wheeler. It was all explained to me last time I went to a trial and I read the rule book on it. The regional championships had the top bird planter in the state and there was a 12 year old GSP that they said...

I almost bought one with my graduation money but I got a mossberg pump and a .22 6 shooter instead. I saw one at a NSTRA trial last weekend, apparently they have one for $549 that has an even nicer stock on it.

Paul Long Book
Has anybody read Paul Long's book? Is it a good one? Helpful, interesting etc.? A NSTRA judge told me it was a great book to read and would help me to become an all around better trainer. It's $12.95 from LCS.

I don't see a problem with dogs playing tug o war during their play time. I never allow them to tug with a human and never when doing training or in the field. Never with a bumper, never with a bird. Everyday when I come home from work I let my dogs out of their pen to run on our 1/2 acre back yard. There is no training involved during this, just free time to let them run, play, and just be a dog.
