Re: trainer for the casual hunter

I'm going to say yes, there is! About all the trainers can and will train the dog to perform as you want if you tell them what you want! (Be Specific) With that being said, I think they will all do the obedience, some socialization, evaluation retrieving, and pointing and probably steady to shot; an...

Re: Stake Out Assistant Reviews??

I agree with Ray, I have done this also and decided to use T-posts and plant the bird according to the wind , around the driven post, I then use a longer cord so I can wrap around the post so I can get in front of the dog to flush without ever letting go of the check cord. Hope this makes since :) .

I try to stay neutral to these arguments, but in this case I'm going to venture in; I think you both are closer to agreeing than what you think. I think what Ray is saying is that as long as the dog is reacting in the field according to his training, then his "anticipation" or movement would be a re...

As I said previously, an Atlas from the state you are going to will tell of all the public area's available to hunt. Your using Joan Baileys book How to help Gun Dog Train Themselves, look in the appendix and it will guide you to what you should be doing with your puppy at that age. Remember it is only 14 weeks old, and not that much of an attention span. Thing at that age should be kept at the fun stage! :)

Try putting something of yours, sweaty t-shirt or type of clothing that you have been wearing, that has lots of your scent on it for him to sleep on; maybe that will help! If not you will know what he thinks of your wardrobe.

I think if you would read the rules for BDC, or UFTA they are not allowed to run, so if need be, criticize the judge for not enforcing the rules. I myself have not participated in these games, but have been and watched several, and the people that do participate take it just as serious as the games ...

Briattny's make good pets also, and also not grow as large to handle for a 10yr old. I also think it will gravitate more towards the trainer, and the care taker (making sure she would be feeding and grooming). It depends a lot on time spent with the dog, by her.

It seems Mr. Milner does not fully understand e-collar training, OR, in the interest of furthering his method, misrepresents them. Before worrying about the retrieve, check his teeth and make sure that he is not teething at this time, at 6 months he could be, and that would have an effect on retrieving or picking up anything.

I wouldn't take a 4month dog dove hunting around several guns going off at a dove; your going to have this dog for possibly 12 to 13 years why rush and possibly do more damage than good. If you want to shoot a dove while you and your dog are out walking around that may be something to consider, wher...
