I agree with everyone's opinion and appreciate them as well.

A sire that is a producer is even more of what I am really looking for, NOT just titles, looks and so on.

The sire must be a producer and a credit to himself.. :)

I agree that the size doesn't have anything to do with mental capabilities. but when it comes down to the runt trying to eat, he or she gets pushed out quite often. Runt's are most generally the smallest in the beginning, but generally grow to the same size as there litter mates and/or even grow to a bigger size then most of the litter mates. WOW! If you are only wanting to train with these birds then WAIT. Right now you you should expect to spend 4.50-5.50 a quail and chuckars are even more expensive like 6-7.00 a piece. So you should expect to easily spend 1,000 or more for birds this time of year. :wink: Chris, Thanks for the input.....

We are looking for a Hatchery that produces strong chicks with strong flying genes. We are in the market for 100 Quail and 100 Chukar.

If you want to win can't go wrong with a Miller Bred dog, for most horeseback dog trialers. For all age most have a fair share out of Miller at some point. I have seen some good shooting dog's out of Sinbad. Kinkelaar runs a string of those lines. Blackhawk has been producing some good dogs as well...
