Re: Brittany lines
There is a guy( sorry can't remember his name), who has some red hot French Brittanys in Nstra. He is from the west Texas region of NSTRA. They hit the field like a rocket. I competed with him as a brace mate at AZ Nstra. The fields are 65 acres. Those dogs flat cover ground fast. Go to NSTRA.org, ...

I have a French Brittany from Mark - he looks like the dogs in you first and third pictures. Generally speaking, they have all of the attributes you mentioned - close working (mine ranges to about 150 yards), a lot of natural hunting instinct, and very sweet with people. If that is what you are look...

Since I'm not a breeder, it's of little concern to me but I suppose the Ryman setter is also an offshoot of the English setter, no? They're all beautiful to me. Out of curiosity I looked into that a little bit. Apparently George Ryman used English Setter hunting show lines for looks and Llewelin Fi...

To add to one of the OPs questions on breeders - Are there any good lists of reputable breeders? I have a Ruff Tough for my 45lb Brittany size Intermediate - 30.5"x20"x22.5". Works great! If you go that route, the USA manufacturer actually has the best price most of the time. There are a lot of nice options you can get on them as well.

I wear Carhartt Upland pants and occasionally wash them in this Nikwax Cotton waterproofer. I am not sure what it will do walking through a swamp, but it sheds water pretty well once your pants get wet from the rain. http://www.nikwax.com/en-us/products/productdetail.php?productid=766&itemid=-1&fabr...

If the water / mud are dry and minimal, I brush him out. If he is an absolute mess, I put him in the sink and spray him off. If he smells swampy - depending on the water he was in - I will use soap. You can add healthy oils to their food if you are concerned about dander - fish oil, coconut oil, etc.
