Re: Watching wrong kind of cooking show!
I save the scraps of venison from my deer and my friends deer. Nothing keeps a dog going in the cold like raw meat scraps and watered down quality kibble. I also throw my dogs broccoli, beans, apples, cabbage (They love cabbage), etc. When I peel carrots/potatoes, I simply peel them onto the floor a...

I would go with a GSP out of proven NAVHDA lines. Thunderhead is the kennel that I would go with if I were getting a GSP. I can tell you that a PP from a NAPPA breeder would be my first suggestion. Pointers are zero trouble inside. Very calm. They have a tendency to be more independent in the field, thus the stereotype that they don't care about you.

English Pointer, end of story. They handle the heat better than any dog, and then obviously have a harder time with severe cold. If I lived in KS and south I would own at least 1 pointer.

Dogs that live inside, live longer on average, and have less joint problems. Ideally, leave them out in a kennel when the weather is nice for 4-6 hours per day, but bring them in at night. They bond with you with out any trouble. Ask any Vet which is better. If you can't have a dog in the house, tha...

I believe dogs can reason some what. I have seen my dogs learn to half arc on running roosters. Some never learn it, but the ones that do must be reasoning in some way. Also, I had a Britt that would open the bread drawer and eat all the bread, open the fridge, open fences, etc.
