Re: Thoughts on age for NA test
No worries in my case about pressure. Pup's momma was broke last year at 3 years old. She was Natural Ability tested at 13 months, not even steady to flush, and definitely a teenager/tweener. The first 6 months of that girls life, were spent walking a lot of fields and playing in water, and I think ...

Our pup is going to be headed for surgery at Purdue University some time next week. The good news is it is repairable, its good we caught it at a young age,the prognosis for full recovery is excellant. Like Shags said, sorry you're dealing with this, BUT I'm delighted it's fixable. Thanks for sharing...

The cage was initially under my whoa table and kind of dark. So first I thought it was a field mouse with a white chest. Then as I moved it out, I thought egads! we have rats. Then I noticed the length and the fuzzy tail. The body wasn't much more than 6" and then the tail. I wasn't sure if it was a...

I knew I was looking at a killer, just wasn't 100% sure which kind. I'm going to go around and check all my pens, to make sure I don't have any holes under them or in the wire.

I haven't gotten around to using the quail recall pen I built earlier this year, but it was successful in catching this little guy off of my front porch over nite. Evidently the 1/2" x 1" wire is small enough, because he can't figure out how to get out. I've never seen one before, but I'm guessing t...

Re: Thoughts on age for NA test
Don't let anyone tell you a pup is too young. I ran Dez at 4.3 months. PRZ 2 107. He took a hit in search... The grass was a little tall and thick for him. I am glad I tested him early. I'll see how the summer unfolds, and think I'll give it a try. I sure would like to get it done with and move on....

Thoughts on age for NA test
I know some folks have tested out pups fairly young on their NAVHDA natural ability test. My next pup will fall into that zone, to where the last available tests around here, would put it somewhere between 4-5 months old. And if I wait until Spring, it would be somewhere around 12-13 months. What we...

I'm not sure if I have a problem with the number of litters, but I feel they should either be your litter (as in owning the female), or a referral breeding from your stud dog being used. (Edited for redundant thought.)

I thought I'd share a little bit of cuteness. My first litter is now 3.5 weeks old. It was a rollercoaster ride, being new to it. First I worried about puppy weight gain and that everyone was going to make it. Then some questionable tail docks, where all the stitches came open within 48 hours, added...

My free flying birds grab whatever they want, and usually it's little sticks they bring back. My other boxes have cedar shavings, and that's worked out fine. Someone gave me tobacco leaves/stems one time, because they were getting out of birds. Wow the coop smelled nice with those! I've used grass h...

It's something like $18 for me to take in a urine sample to my vet. Wouldn't be a bad idea for the money, if you suspect. It is like CJ said though, when the UTI advances, they will try to go and go, and just dribble a few drops. I have 2 shorthair girls that each had UTIs as puppies, and the one gi...

Well the problem is i dont know for sure what is wrong. When you have a definitive answer, I would contact the breeder. Using Scout as an example he has proven himself to be an outstanding field dog, even at a young age. How much will a dog change (physically) between 18 and 24 months? Your dog's chewing through a building is a sign of an anxiety or or social issue. It is not a chewing problem! +1 The electric wire (fence) is not training the dog to not chew, but to stay a way from it.
