I was told that it was a 2X3 mule deer. I did not shoot it a friend loves to hunt but hates the meat. I love the meat but guiding bird hunters this time of the year makes it hard to hunt deer. Needless to say no pictures!

Feeding Raw Meat!

I started feeding Raw meat tonight. No improvement yet! Disadvantage nearly had a digit bit off!
QC I have to add this I will get my corn in the diet no matter what. The deer was shot today standing on the side of a corn field! :shock:

QC has a great advise here! I train with some guys that every 10th bird the dog gets a retrieve. and it had to be worked perfect to get that retrieve.
Another good tip is when working 2 dogs let the backing dog at times get the retrieve......

not an for sure answer here but a old friend that breeds and trials Labs said never breed a Yellow to a Chocolate. I believe he told me that the pups have pink noses and something else??? Just a guess.
One other thing he did say is never breed for color and the only good color in Labs is Black.

Hunt Tests you must have passing scores in I believe 4 areas... Trainability, birdwork, Obediance Ground coverage you must mantain a 7 over all of them to pass. If you skip the JH and the SR you must pass the MH 5 times to be crowned. Might be 6 NSTRA you have to have 18 pts 9 of which are 1st place...

Also thinking about it a little. I have had some dogs that never liked to play fetch. Crockett (Brit) would retrieve a downd bird miles away. But a ball, stick or anything he would give the look you threw you get it!
