Re: My first AKC trial.
Thanks guys. We love "Rola" at our house. She technically belongs to my Son. They are best friends and it's so much fun to watch them together. He was so excited when I told him "his Rola" had won him a prize. He carried the ribbon around all night. At one point he had it hung on his shirt like a ti...

My first AKC trial.
I've played alot in NSTRA trials and due to losing a dog I just don't have a dog ready to go for that game. I got a wild hair and decided to go join some friends at an AKC Walking trial put on by the German Shorthair Club of Utah. We had a great weekend. A lot of fun with some great people. First Pl...

He's definately taken it as close as anyone should dare. May have even crossed the line to inbreeding. I think it could go either way that close. You might get what you want or it could go bad.Yawallac wrote:I wonder if Sean really believes in line breeding??

Tin Soldier is a fine looking pointer. I like my dogs not to be ticked up a couple of color patches don't bother me, but I do prefer performance. What do the pups that Tin Soldier is siring look like?

Re: who's the next big pointer stud
I really don't know who will be the next big thing in the Pointer world, but my main hunting partner got a puppy out of Erins Bad River last year and this pup is pretty amazing. His run, style and point are really remarkable and he is 100% natural. I looked at his pedigree and it appears that he is...

You are generally good to go on their third heat cycle. Assuming there are no health issues and the female provides what you want for a breeding program.

12 Volt, We need to get some of these lines out here in UT. Its hard to find a really good bred pointer out here. They are here, but litters are few and far between. I've made a quick one out of duct tape for a NSTRA trial after using super glue to seal up a cut in the pad. Worked excellent and didn't slow the dog down one bit. I would take it off and check it after every brace. Then redo it right before your brace.

Great photo, but I think I'm missing something. If he just launched from that green dock why are his back feet below the top of the dock so early in the launch? I use this waterer. Very nice. Doesn't let them roost on it. Stays fairly clean. You can actually use it as a feeder too, although I never have.
For food and grit I just use a heavy dog dish.
