Mine will wine after a few minutes and me may start up when I leave the room but I don't allow freedom in the house until they are older and somewhat more calm. Re: Atv handling in field trials

We had a handler on a ATV at last years GSPCA Amateur Nationals that ran his dog as a bye. He kept ATV at a horse flat walk pace, and all seemed to go ok. Once his dog pointed, he got off and walked to work his dog. I don't think I would run my dogs braced with a ATV handler. I train mostly off ATV...

Re: Atv handling in field trials

I won't run against someone handling off an ATV..... NoL a big deal. I did it twice and now I will always refuse and run as a bye dog. If they want to handle off foot, I will slow way down. If they want to handle off horse, all the better. If they want to handle off a quad, good for them. But I'm no...

Went out training with dezasterous gun dogs this morning to put our pup on some birds. Took some nice pictures of a dog with style who liked to stand his birds, wait till i walked back and tapped him on the head to retrieve. This boy is NICE> should be ready for gun dog stakes at 11 months.

Pigeons reproduce without starving or death from dehydration. Pretty sure the bird will eat and drink when necessary. They aren't obese pregnant women. :-)

I don't run in championships because there aren't any that I can make due to scheduling and work, which will be changing soon. Part of having the best dog is having one that is broke and won't chase. It doesn't take much to break a dog by one.... You also don't have to run a breed that won't make it in broke stakes if you don't want to. Last I checked they didn't issue you a dog to run, it was a choice like entering a broke dog in puppy, derby, and gun dog. I dont tell you that you can't run an ...

Run it in whatever you want, but there can be lasting effects from dogs catching birds. If there is amateur puppy there should be open puppy. I say skip defby until the dog is broke and save yourself a lot of heartache and money in trying to correct bad habbits.

Why start with ferrell squeekers? It isn't expensive to find out who races and buy old breeders that they don't want and culls.. I'm paying $5.00 a bird for squeekers from good racing stock. Feed is expensive when you have 300-400 birds.
