I don't know how many forum members live in central Illinois, but would there be any interest in an area near lake Shelbyville for smaller field trials and year round training by individuals or clubs. Please give me some idea if there would be any interest.
Thanks
Bob

Re: Hello , an intro and a question about King Llwellin Setters
If a dual type dog is what you might be considering do a google search for "Ryman English Setters", this should give you a good selection of breeders raising the dual type dogs. The prices of these dogs will be a considerably less than the Decoverlys. There are good numbers of them being used for gr...

New Game Bird Predator
We picked up a few quail yesterday for training and while visiting with the breeder he told us about another quail predater. He explained that he recently heard that the DNR in Missouri had autopsied 18 hen turkeys for a study and that 15 of the 18 had quail chicks in their bellies. The feeling was ...

Re: Where can I get pigeons?
I am pretty sure Gun Dog Supply sells differant types of bird wings. A piece of rag should do the same thing on a string if thats what you want to do, since the dog is just sight pointing anyway.
Probably shouldn't overdo the sight pointing either.

Re: Need to bring in big running pointer pup.
Thanks for the help guys. It is not that I don't like the run but what we have to hunt just doesn't fit the dog. It is truly amazing what can be bred into a good dog when it is done properly. This guy is like a well oiled machine, Desire, prey drive, and the physical traits that make all this possib...

Re: Need to bring in big running pointer pup.
Hey Kevin, good to here from you. Wish we could make it to the NI but that trip would cut into our hunting budget severely the way things are. If it was timed so the hunting season followed immediatly it could more easily justify the expense. I guess I did a pretty good job of describing Duke. Thank...

Need to bring in big running pointer pup.
We have an 18 month old pointer pup, bred to run. We need to reel him in for hunting preserves and smaller parcels of land in Central Illinois. He was bred and well started on pheasant in central Kansas running on wild birds till 20 weeks old. There are 24 champions and 7 hall of fame dogs in his 5 ...
