I'd guess she is scratching at it because she doesn't know what it is, or what it means yet. Teach her. That's why the checkcord is still on. Don't let her stop, Bring her in with the checkcord. She'll figure it out, it's the first day

Also thought I'd add, If you want to go for walks on checkcord without the structure of heel then there is another option. Don't use choke/pinch collar just a flat collar and when she hits the end of the checkcord say her name and give it a tug at the same time. Or tug and two toots on a whistle. At...

Re: Pulls like a mule!
Teach Heel; I use a choke collar but I think most would recomend a pinch collar. It's all in how you use it. They won't contiually pull and choke on it if you are doing it right and not letting them. It's just a quick snap of the collar and giving the heel command at the same time. Do this while mak...

More Pics of Daisy May
These Pics were taken by my mother on the first day that we picked up Daisy May. We stopped by my parents house on the way home. Easiest way I know of is when she starts to go forward, turn sharply. First few times turn into her and bump her in the side with your jnee. Then make sharp turns to the right and quick turns 180 degrees and correct immediately. Also make 180 degree turns where you turn into her making her come aro...

Very Cute Pup.
I'm basically doing the same as you with my pup. Letting her cry a bit then taking her out when she quiets back down. Though I do wake her up to take her out a couple times in the night. But by 4:00 4:30 she is whining.

You might be able to add a folding stock or adjustable stock to the pistol grip. Make it alot more usable and still mantain the small profile. something similar to this http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/templates/product/standard-item.jsp?_DARGS=/cabelas/en/common/catalog/item-link.jsp_A&_DAV=MainCa...

Normally that would be correct but, you all ready have a dog that is showing signs of gun shyness and none of the foundation work that should have been done missing, so you can not take a chance on getting it wrong. At 20ft I'd be inclined to guess that they are busting from the preasure he's putting on them. Wild birds are more jumpy than pen raised it will take a young dog awhile to figure out how much preassure he can put on them. But if you shoot anyway he'll figure it don't matter. Congrats on the purchase. I have an 870 express also. Nice shotgun. Great shotgun for the money. Definateley clean and oil it before using. It should also have a built in trigger lock. There should be a green key in the box. doesn't look like a key but it is. Read the manual.
