I mis-typed- I was first told NO ducks until FF is done. But...by another trainer was told I need to start exposing him to ducks. I tend to think it is better to expose him now. So, if I am to start a step by step process....where do I start. I would like him to start to understand the search proces...

Especially if your bitch is thin and fit. There is no set time for the first heat and though most probably have it younger than that it is not uncommon for a dog to go that long.

Re: Dog food websites?
I fed Wellness puppy until 6 months, then switched to Wellness adult. (both similar to Innova adult and puppy). After one yr I switched to Orijen. Evo and Core are great no grains as well. My concern was Ca/Ph levels as well as not over feeding (in terms of too high protein/fat/etc). Grow them slow!...

A different duck search question.....
Does anyone start duck work before the dog is finished with his FF? My guy is about 2/3 of the way through FF and so for now, I am just tossing bumpers and having fun. I am hiding dead birds in my yard and telling him to 'find it' and doing that kind of search exercise. Anything else I can do in the...

I feed Orijen and it is a wonderful food. Innova is almost the same price. I would not feed a grain free until the dog is 1yr old so if going with Innova....stick with the adult not Evo. My 2 cents.

Re: Dog Eating Poop
There are products you can buy (forbid is one) that you put on the dogs food. Makes the poop taste bad. Most are made from veggies that ferment during the digestion process.
Funny she doesn't do this outside. You are lucky about that. She shouldn't be needing to poop that often soon.

Ultrasound at 25 days is standard. My question would be---how many times has the vet does this procedure? I would want someone who does this regularly and know what they are looking at. If you are in doubt, you should go elsewhere.

BdB Hunts--- Your dog could have had an allergic reaction or bite/sting from anything. I would carry the Benadryl- works nicely. I think the dose is 1mg/lb but you would have to double check. The strips are so easy and dissolve quickly. I ahve them in the car and house. Glad you pup is OK!! PS- You ...

Product recommendation- Bee/wasp stings
Last year my old girl got into a ground wasp nest when we were on a hike. All 3 dogs had multiple stings. We had Benadryl dissolving strips in the car. I second the "go to vet" advice. If he does have an infection he will need antibiotic ointment for his ears to clear it. Then clean them regularly. My GSP needs his done more frequently then my mutt. He also builds up more wax in the right ear then the left. Anyway, I keep an eye on them and always ...

Proteins, fats and carbs are all metabolized differently. Higher protein (and fat) diets have a potential to slim down a dog even compared to a diet of the same caloric intake that has lower protein and fat. Protein helps build muscle.....muscle metabolizes calories a lot more efficiently. If you wa...
