Man I felt lucky to buy my first shotgun when I was a sophmore in college. My first bird dog was my graduation present. I think you should just go hunt the dog you have and wait until after school. You may want to do some line of work that has you in the field and traveling.

Dogs are pretty good at hiding marking. If it is just a dribble I would still think marking. Try cleaning your carpet with a steam cleaner with vinegar in it.

Get a smaller crate to avoid the going in crate deal. Move crate where you can't here it. He may still have accidents but by 7 months that should be finished. Just don't give in.

I really don't like running my new pup with the older dog. Neither of them do well. It will take some time to establish that team. I wouldn't see that as a training asset, but you can maybe hunt him a little before he is too old and give him a good home.

Make sure you put the ecollar on only when doing fun stuff that she loves for a while without stimulation. Sounds like time to revisit the conditioning phase, IE collar turned off but put on the dog and go run and do fun stuff.

Just bought some Patagonia field hacking pants. They are awesome but do get sweaty if it is warm and you are going uphill. They need vent zips but so do all of the upland pants out there.

Just IMHO... if an 870 fits you and you want an autoloader, stick with remington or browning. Maybe look at the weatherby as a more affordable option. Maybe the winchester sx's. Keep in mind there is fit and then there is picture. I can't shoot a recessed rib. I have to have a raised rib coming out from the receiver on pumps and autoloaders. This basically means that almost all benelli shotguns will NOT fit me. Franchi was a little better but the American guns are my ticket...
