My dog retrives the birds fine, but chomps the heck out of bird before she delivers it. I have heard folks say FF will help solve that problem. Feist dogs are great for their type of hunting. Back when I frist posted this, I was talking in R/L with a fellow who was saying he hunted birds with his little dogs, not waterfowl, but timber grouse and quail. Ugly little things, but they do seem to have the drive <shrugs>

Whiskey, I noticed your post. You may find that if you have 3 eggs in one nest that two hens have paired up. If that is the case then chicks are unlikely !

Darn lesbo pigeons anyhoos. :oops: well there is 2 eggs in nest, found a 3rd egg busted on the floor.

Ok I only have 9 pigeons at the moment and they are all new to coop. The pigeons havnt even been outside of coop yet.Today,single egg laid. I was kinda thinking that once they started laying, they'ld be like rabbits?

I have had quail eggs before, pretty tasty over camp fire :)

I have a small coop, big enough for 6-8 pigeons. I was curious what to do with all the extra eggs. Anyone ever tried a pigeon egg omlet before?

What do you do to keep the population down to a mangable size in your coops?

My 9 month old has never really been with any other dog that was retriving before, so never seen this. Took my pup to a "club' meeting the other day. During "play" time, when all dogs where running lose, my pup would rush in and try to take what ever the other dog had. Trying to take from the mouth....

Im looking for a bag I can carry lunch and training tools, (bumper,CC, treats) and be small enough to not get hung up on heavy brush. Needs a CWP pocket too :wink:

I came across the "Maxpedition" bags on the net, anyone used them before? Any other suggestions?

This lifting of the rear leg for fur came from an europien forum, they say their hunting dogs do it all the time. They say in england espeacially they tend to train for both fur and feather, as they say "thats a versatile dog"

there is a local man that has a "Honda Shadow" that he pulls a 'flat bed" trailer with a portable kennel straped down. He has a boxer that rides back there. I would imagine if you kept the matterials light, you could build your own box to hold whatever your would need.

shave area and use "butterfly" bandaids to hold cut closed. On ear is tough for dog to leave alone, always wanting to scratch it off. I dont think your gonna stop the head shacking, much. Good luck.

harness vs collar....

was wondering what folks thought of a harness in place of the common collar? Common collar=one that holds the 'tags".
