I lost Skipper about 1983 and Hannah aabout 2001, still not over either of them. But I no longer look for them in pups either. Skip was a springer, I've never owned another. Hannah was a GSP and I had four others when she died, I have none now. A bit of me dies with every dog.

My Katie died at 9yrs from a stroke. In her life time she never, not even once pointed a wing on a string but, she would chase that thing till she was exhausted! Now a bird was another story. She would point till H*ll froze over! Don't worry to much yet.

If you have a problem with the launcher scaring the pup, the pup isn't ready in the first place. I've had two set's, the Wag Ag and my present set, R&R Farms. Both were/are noisy. You can answer this one yourself. Tell us what you did to get her steady to flush and wing on the pigeons? There's your answer. When you left the pigeons behind and moved on to game birds, start over from the begining. It goes much faster the second time!
