I use my training table for force fetching. It is my understanding that the use of the table is kind of intended to get the pup up in a place where they arent really in a comfortable place.

I can not tell you much from experience since most of my dove hnting has been over my labs, but every one that I have talked to has told me that my GSP should be reliably finding and pointing birds before I do any "retriever"type work ie, dove and duck hunting with him.

I agree with EZZY i believe that you are looking for trouble. 10-15 minutes could very well ruin a young dog or cost you a ton of money to get this dog fixed, or it might be fine...... your call, best bet is to get a starter pistol and go out to the field, it took me almost a month to properly intro...

Ive got several shotguns like im sure most of you do, but my go to guns are a 20ga Baikal o/u, which I use for all of my upland work. for waterfowl I shoot a winchester SX3.
