I was told by the breeder of my last dog to add some flavor via broth or gatorade to water to try increase drinking desire. it did seem to help, but not sure if the gatorade was the best suggestion after getting some second opinions on that.

When my pup was having allergy symptoms, I suspected the mushrooms in the backyard. As mentioned, complete removal can be quite the undertaking depending on the source.

Problem with that theory is those of us that are on the Rural Water system are drinking water that comes from the intensive Ag areas but that had nothing to do with why we are using it or not using well water. If you're still on good terms with the breeder I would try to get the contact information of the next owner. See how the pup does over the next several months.
