+1 on leaving a couple in there to recall the loose ones. I have these around my place (since I raise birds) and it helps capture any stray birds that are bound to get loose.

Rowdy a birddog wont catch the bird because of two things. It has probably been trained not to and the dog doesnt depend on the meal like a yote. The only reason I can see the dog to point is by sight, there doesnt seem to be any reason for a dog to point a bird they cannot smell. :roll:

The commercial dog training permit is inexpensive, about the price of 4-5 mature quail. Buy it and forget about fooling with anything else. I do it and cant see a reason to not.
