Overlay the known commands to the e-collar. Begin with lowest stimulation possible until the dog responds to your reinforcing use of the e-collar to a known command. You want simple? Just thought for a while the book was being written? Interesting to see if this happens with Jake, since he's getting trained nonslip by Cass (with Kraka's guidance) via a retriever program, and that kind of rebelliousness does not happen with retrievers even though they have their fun at much great...

'Switching' them on and off depends on what you 'switch' them on too'..So perhaps the 'House' ain't the best for some of them 'Parlour' tricks with a Cocker you want to 'Non slip' ?

I don't think there is a huge difference in training (shaping) spaniels either side of the pond and there is much overlap. Yes, you guy's tend to let them go wider and the cover can dictate or determine that,but even here, the handler allows the dog to 'take in ground' when it suits but regains patt...

I've used a couple of helpers (guns) with a flapping pigeon each to get that 'pattern' - consequentially - enthusiasm to quest the correct direction without any verbal or electricity.
