Re: A deer dog range? How far?
dogging deer has really died out...at least here in the South (GA) there is just isn't large enough land in contiguous tracks to have the room to run deer. The way it was done was the shooters would be in certain spots along roads or fields and the dogs usually a beagle or a hound would run the deer...

how old is the dog......you can't just start zapping the dog...you have to make sure the dog knows the command and then you overlay the collar to the command and then only when you need it. So here is how you would start with the come or here command...the dog will need to be on the CC you will say ...

Like Gone said the walking fetch and pile work is important...Start with bumbers and have them placed on the ground heel the dog at your side and send him in to fetch a bumber...then the next....you'll then start heeling passed them and send him in only on command.....the dog may get a little confus...

for hunting i would say Steady to Flush is really all thats needed but STWS would also help on the dog not rushing in an maybe busting more birds that did not flush....you don't want a dog jumping in on birds or up at birds and you have some idiot hunting with you and then he shoots your dog

Re: Glycogen replacement/Carbo Gain
I've seen quite a bit about WMS. I think it's "Maize", though. In theory, the higher the molecular weight of the carb, the better it is for glycogen replacement. Malto's MW is 300 X that of dextrose. WMS's MW is 100 X Malto's. So, in theory,WMS would be the better supplement. As an aside, that's th...

You'll need a flight pen they aren't near as stong as pigeons and if they don't get good room to fly they are won't do much more than flutter.
