How long do you plan to leave her with the trainer? Visiting once a week may actually be too often. Let the trainer make some significant progress with the dog. The temporary separation may actually be good for you both. jmo

Couldn't get my dog's to eat the K9 Energy Bars. Last year I had good luck with Sportdog Performance Bars available from Lion Country Supply. Dog's loved them and they did seem to help on extended hunting trips. For hydration I usually use Glycocharge or Rehydrate tablets. Dog's seem to like Rehydra...

My wife and I do lot's of hunting in "snake country". We both prefer boots. Our's actually zip up on the side. My wife is 5"2"" and weighs about 105 and she is more copmfortable in boots. By the way...boots just look "cooler" Good luck. Hope you never have to experience a strike

You would really need to head South around San Antonio for a chance to get into good quail. Probably the further South the better. Ummmmm...Diarrhea and bad coats. Seems like the first place I'd be looking is the dog food. While I don't feed it at home, the trainer thats kind enough to work my dogs during the Summer feeds Pro Pac and he is satisfied with it. There are suppliments that might also help. I'd then be throwing some frozen birds (with feathers),then some dead birds (if you have a place to buy game bird), keeping him on as check cord and working your commands. From everything I have seen and heard TOTW is a good feed but I still haven't found a feed that supplies good nutrition as economically as the Diamond products. For me, it's more a question of activity rather than age. If they are still in hunting condition and hunting regularly during the season, I keep them on their normal 30/20 feed. When they slow down I may change.

Vittles Vault 50 for our guys. We do always keep the empty bag in a container in the garage until the food is totally used and then get rid of the bag and the cycle continues. Keep a second bag next to "the "Vault" inside in the utility room.
