Give it a try - my dogs hated it and we had diarrhea for the entire time with 3 of our dogs on it. The others had loose stools - but not as bad as the 3. We switched back to National and our dogs are happier, less poop too. Hope it works for you.

If it's not too big of a run, just put another panel on top and it will be escape proof. My GSP and our older EP both are climbers. We had to buy an extra chain link panel to use as a top for our runs for those two wild dogs.
Good luck!

A soft knee to the pup's chest will also help. Turning your back on the pup will help. My favorite though, it teaching the dog a "blanket" or "place" command so that when someone new comes into the home the pup immediately goes to his blanket and lies down (or sits). This keeps his excitement at bay...

In my job, I give a lot of presentations on quail and aspects of quail management including hunting. One program I had occassion to put together was a program on the effectiveness of birddogs in finding quail. I cited two studies, one that I worked on myself here in Missouri. The other was on the Al...

How do you handle the pup when he brings the dummy back to you? Are you reaching for the dummy and taking it from him? If so, then you need to change that tactic. When the pup returns to you with the dummy, you need to love up on him, petting, talking stupid to him - all of that.... while he has the...

I would venture a guess that the "snack" feeders are more likely to be folks with dogs that have hypoglycemia - I have a pointer that gets weak if I hunt her in warmer weather and she needs the sugar and protein pick-me-up while we're hunting. She has had two "attacks" in the past and I avoid having...

Please make sure you have pig rails on your setup. They are IMO, absolutely necessary to prevent mama from laying on the pups. I have heard countless stories of moms laying on pups, and the pig rails totally prevent that from happening, the pup can squish up against the side of the whelping box with...

For general CRP, thats not how it works. Yes, you can bid lower, ie. take a lower payment than what your soil rate is, but that rate only gains you a certain amount of points. The EBI, or environmental benefits index is an index of all your points you can gain (one of them is gaining points by offer...

If the above ideas don't work for you, you can buy him an "egg" toy. You put the kibble in the egg (like a hamster ball) and the dog noses the egg around until the kibble falls through the hole. It slows them down a ton and they have to "work" for their food. Another one like that is the "tug-a-jug"...
