I think you need to adjust the amount your feeding to keep his weight where you want it. Some dogs, like yours, appear to be hungry 24/7. Don't give in, he won't starve. Glad I was able to steer you to that trial and so happy you had a great time. In the future you can check the NSTRA web site for trials in both the Big Sky Region and the Mid-North Region. That's probably the last trial for this year in either region, they will start up again in the spring.

That's a very common occurrence. I've seen that throughout my 60+ years of pheasant hunting. Not sure why and have never figured out anything that can be done about it other than trying to work into the wind. It's just one of those things of nature I guess.

It would appear that your "force fetch" was not complete. You need to go back and repeat it or probably have a pro do it for you. Unless you are experienced at doing force fetch I've found it difficult to do yourself no matter how many books you read or videos you watch. Good luck.
