I'll give it a go...My second Brittany was probably my all time "one" dog. He and I spent alot of time together because he was just a puppy when I got a divorce. I did adopt a rescue Sheltie as a bud for him when he was around 2 years old but the bond between he and I was pretty much sealed by then....

bee stings- we have several dogs that routinely get stung from chasing and catching bees and are fine...we also have one who has had to make 2 ER trips to the vets from being stung...the second time he swelled up so fast i couldn't get the second benedryl down his throat so that was scary...we keep ...

We rarely use the word "NO" in our house or anywhere else for that matter. Mostly it's the sound "AAAAAATTTTT" or if the dog is countersurfing it's an "OFF" or if it's something I want the dog to leave alone as in another dog, something on the ground, etc. it's "LEAVE IT". Kristi

The dog, to maintain contact, has to stay within eysight (his, not mine). >>But out here there are some grounds where if the dog kept within eyesight of you- he'd only be 50' in front because of the hills. The singing is a way to keep the dog going without him having to come back and check in for us...

We use it for general house manners and competitive obedience training. It works for us and the dogs love it. We do not use it in any field training. But then again other than carrying cookies when teaching the pups "come" we don't use any treats in field work either. For people who don't want to us...
