Ever tried "Google Earth"? It is amazing what you can see on the aerial views just by looking at the areas you intend to hunt and most of those aerials are reasonably up to date. I think I read somewhere in their literature, that the aerials are refreshed every 3 years, or something to that effect?...

I had heard awhile back that the biggest problem was the dog ingesting the salt/chemical they put on the roads and sidewalks, in addition to irritation.

We were always told to clean the dogs feet if they had been out in it.

What will your friend be hunting? I think thats the place to start. Then go to a gun store and try out different O/U's, SxS's, auto's, pumps then once he finds one that comfortable for him. Different guns work for different folks...kind of a personal preference.

Each dog reacts differently to different foods. My weim is doing great on Pro Plan sensitive Stomach, there is a little more poop than with some others but her health, coat and energy have never been better!
