Its been 5 years & we are stil waiting for the Home Inspection" / visit from ABR. The stinkers turned us down because we are a hunting household, period. Don't be alarmed if she does not point right away.
With that much drive & being bird crazy she may want to Chase awhile.
Some Bretons mature slower than others. I have one like her & he did not point till 8 mos. of age.

I use a suburban. Two crates facing the back gate side by side. One crate inside driver's side rear door backed up against the two crates in the back end. Rest of space is cargo space. Can haul 3 people & plenty o fgear this way. Just don't tangle with any skunks or you would rather have the pick up...

or Dog Chow. Way better. Not cheaper. Premium kibble costs more but they do not need to eat as much.
A little less comes out the "exhaust pipe" also.

DO NOT expose to gunfire until you have a clue what the heck you are doing.
Dogs are made gunshy, they do not come that way.
Work on the obedience & control until it is automatic. If you cannot control the dog, the rest is just academic!

If you run dogs with a fine tight coat, you could also try using a flea type comb.
Or, a very fine toothed stainless comb. If you run E. Pointers, this would be ideal I would think.

One school of thought is 49 days old.

Another school of thought is wait till pup is 10 - 12 weeks.
More time with Mum & learn some more "doggie stuff" from Mum.

I don't really have any particular opinion either way.

The way I sometimes shoot I might as well call it "Flush & release".
The only time I am fair (on par with) the birds is when I am shooting well.
Usually it is in the birds favor.......

Sounds like a "Good Problem". Pup must have plenty of desire. I would think with only 2 hunts behind him he is still figuring out who the boss is & just what is expected of him. If you hunt him more he should associate you with the good things in the field & recognize you are the boss & his partner....

My French Britts were having trouble with the snow. Not from lack of conditioning either. There feet could not reach the ground through deep powder. Pretty hard for a dog to move in soft powdery snow when the feet do not touch anything solid. I have not found a breed that can levitate yet. A longer ...
