Rich at Outback has picked up some pheasants another breeder crowded so they don't look so hot. Good part is he is offering them for $10 a bird, hunted at Outback, way less than usual non-member pricing. (937) 302-7006 He is doing a "fun" trial this Sat. Two man/dog teams with about 30 minutes in th...

Dillon is just NW of Zanesville. Probably come down I-77 to I-70 and get off on 146 on the West end of town. Could cut accross 36/16 through Coshocton and Frazeysburg to hit 146 West of the wildlife area but with back roads, might not be much quicker. I take my setter, friends take thier Weim and /o...

Tyler, drive down to Dillon for the opener and I'll show you around. Two hours for me now but has been a tradition for us for longer than I can remember. Bring hip boots if you have them. Everybody hunts the fields till they hit the dike for the swamp where the river enters the lake. If we don't fin...

Joey Preston, he came up here a while back for a trial and I have run against him, his uncle, and cousin at the Nationals. If I recall, he came for a really hot Sept or March trial where birds were hard to come by and had one really good run. Other dogs were blowing past the gate birds for ones at t...

NSTRA is time limited and you probably must shoot as many birds as your closest competitor to win but Snips is right in that just doing that won't get you in the circle. Dog must have higher performance scores too. UFTA, NBDCA, PHU are all timed events where getting your birds quickest does count (a...

Arguements over "my dog found more birds than the others" and "my dog has more style and class than yours" seperates many of u...

Reaction to load noises history by current owner would be very important. Bringing out the bird desire will be easy if it's in there. Correcting gunshyness is way harder for a novice. Would be great to take a couple quail or pigeons when you go to see what they do but you aren't looking at buying a ...

Sometimes my setter crouches on a point, usually when she spins to nail one or is tracking foot scent. My brother has my father's old 101 and you couldn't have it for that price even without the sentimental value.
