While she is out of sight sing to her. It lets her know exactly where your at. Let that puppy run. You will be glad in the long run. Once you start getting into birds she will shorten up.
Good luck and have fun.

Re: Training birds for a Johnny house
I have never tried chukars but I have heard they don't recall worth anything. Mike Tracy convinced me to go with huns. They bought several and had great success with recall. I bought 15 and had the same luck with them. They stink so dogs stiffened right up when they hit the scent. The advice I was g...

my pointer did it also but only when she was braced with another dog and was behind. She stopped at a year. Just give the pup time. I suggest you ignore. Hard but necessary.

Drank crystal light Iced tea all evening. We had a great time but no alchohol for me. On a big health kick right now and working out constantly. I have lost 35lbs of goo in the last 9 weeks and feel great going into the rest of deer season.
Hope everyone had a safe and happy New Year's Eve

It sounds as though your dog will just be a good dog for you. It would be hard to get those papers if it were just the female not registered but since her sire was also not registered I think you are out of luck. If it doesn't really matter to you then I wouldn't worry about it. Just enjoy your dog....

Those hawks are not stupid. When we go to the club to work birds, there is one side that most use to fly chukar and shoot. We are not allowed to shoot quail. I took the pup out last weekend with a few pigeons, and when I pulled over to that side i watched 4 hawks fly over and land in the trees. They...

That's the best about this method is you set the distance. If he is fifteen feet away when he turns then it is fifteen feet you expect a stop. I like to leave nothing to chance with a pup. I try to control as much as possible. So that is why I like the method. You teach the stop at first scent and g...

Have two staple kits in my med bag at all times. Haven't stapled mine yet but have stapled a few others that were sliced good. A bottle of Iodine is also a good thing to have in your kit. Wash it up and staple away. Then wrap and keep clean.

Great duck dogs are quiet, patient, and calm. They sit quietly at heel for hours on end, scanning the sky for incoming ducks or resting until sent for a swim. Surely you have seen a string of pointers waiting on a chain at a trial? Did the words quiet , patient , and calm come to mind? I'm sure the...

I went through Kennel cough. Every dog in my house had it. It is a horrible sound and it will scare you the first time you go through it with a pup.
