I am agreeing with ezzy The performance canine nutritionist have been telling us for years that dogs perform better on an empty gut and they really don't need to be fed throughout the day to maintain their stamina. I have hunted my dogs for 10 days in a row without having to give them energy snacks ...

I feed 30% protein and 20% fat year round, and I gradually increase the amount as it gets closer to the hunting season. In the summer when it is too hot to work dogs, they only get about 2 1/2-3 cups, but as the temps drop and we spend more days in the field, I may increase it to 5-6 cups depending ...

I didnt realize the handler should get the prize money as well if he or she wins and there is money at stake. I agree with Don and Scott 100% I teach the dogs the rules of the game in the off-season, and I practice and reinforce the rules over wild birds. When it comes time to play the doggy games in the Spring, the dogs know what is expected of them, and there is no such thing as hoping they get around cle...

GlycoCharge Question
I was given a large supply of Annamaet GlycoCharge, but the scoop is missing. According to the instructions, I am supposed to dissolve 60 grams (1 level scoop) in 0.473 liters (1 pint) of water and feed within 30 minutes of completing exercise.
My question is: How big is the scoop?

I won't ask a handler to pick up their dog unless it is obviously chasing birds or refusing to back a dog on point. I love it when judges assume, because I have sold a lot of "iffy" bird work as a stop-to-flush. Most of the time it was a legitimate STF, but I was the only one who saw the bird fly. Depends on what you call "iffy" and what level of testing it is at. In Master I dont' allow for any "iffy" bird work...

I would own and hunt a dog with a bad bite for many years, but I would not breed one no matter how well they were bred. Last trial season, I walked over to a GSP pup on a stake-out to give him a pet.
