Tylan is also used in shipping stress and diarrhea in cattle, it works well to clear such symptoms in dogs. Been using it for dogs for decades,when needed with good fast results.

Might want to take a look at what it does treat..... Just saying......

Crap/crock huh....I don't ff my pointing dogs until after their second season.....I don't always agree with others training methods but don't feel the need to call their methods " crap or a crock" Force broke at 18 months after second season. He's retrieved more birds than most people would believe....

Little trick I learned on dark coated dogs....rub their fur backwards vigorously and even the tiniest ticks will come to the surface and crawl around....look for the shiny little devils. Works on my black lab.

Id be surprised if you actually saw the tick that caused the lyme or the other tick born disease. Some ticks are almost too small to see so seeing every tick that bites a dog is improbable, not impossible but improbable. Labs are built and wired to take all that control work without taking away their independence in hunt mode.....I want that control for all the other things a lab is good for as well as after the shot ....eg honoring a pointing dog, accepting help on tough retrieves....the control is also cooperation...

I used to get above 75 to 80 percent with the foam ones....but because of the Small volume of air in them you have to watch them more closely and not open them. Auto turners are a must.

I try to leave the incubator closed as long as possible....crashing the humidity to take a few birds out at a time can make it tougher or almost impossible for some of the other birds to hatch.

If you LIKE to train a lab may be a better fit. With a purely specialist bird dog you have to leave alot of what you train for in a lab go by the way side, People who come from labs, to say a pointer or setter. tend to try and over train a pointing dog (over training or being heavy handed with a set...

I'd say ezzys statement is fairly accurate as it pertains to a waterfowl dog compared to a upland pointing dog. If the dd is to be a navhda type then its similar.

I don't have a personal problem dosing at 5+ times the level of a heart guard but .10 or 1/10th of a cc per 10lbs is more than 15 times the dose.... Even tho a lot if people use that amount safely it seems....I see no need, again personally, to dose 15x more than is needed. 1/10th cc per 20lbs is 7....
