No health issues. However, I do have a 10 month old intact male. And I need to do something. These are pets and they are in an out of the house and in the back yard together. I don't have a good way to keep them separated. I didn't think she would be in heat for at least three weeks. Just bad timing...

Spaying a female in heat?

I have my female scheduled to be spayed this Wednesday. She came into season today, five days prior to the scheduled surgery. I know it can be done, but is a little more complicated. Just weighing whether to go ahead or not. Any opinions or prior experiences are appreciated.

Update. I'm on my third bag of the River Run Hi Pro No Soy 27/12. I was previously feeding my Bernese 4 cups per day of the previous food I used. Sportsman's Pride Premium Adult 26/18. Just recently switched to this from Pro Plan Original Chicken and Rice 26/16. Reason was cost. Sportsman's Pride was cheaper, just as convenient to purchase, and came in a larger bag. Early results are positive.
