Well, Good thing my flooring remnant was only 10 bucks. After about a week of HEAVY nesting, birth mess, and more nesting just for good measure, "Sam" managed to eyesore her luxuary accomadations. http://i526.photobucket.com/albums/cc343/prairiefirepointers/SambosPups1.jpg http://i526.photobuc...

bag limits have no effect on pheasant populations in cocks only seasons. the more roosters killed the more hens survive and niether do predator control programs. Loss of crp is big the pheasant numbers took off when crp program started. Nesting habitat and winter cover are the big thing. Very few p...

I dang sure don't support the HSUS or anyone affiliated with them. At least not intentionally... However, there has got to be a better solution than releasing all these PR birds. Conservation perhaps?? Cutting back on bag limits?? These are just some ideas that pop into mind. I seem to remember that...

Its amazing the predicaments or situations we find our selves in due to having dogs. 99.9% of the time I can find humor in most anything. This is no exception. Nice work.....love the set-up. Is that floor vinyl, no-glue that real soft to the touch? I could use a box like that in about a week. Yes, pretty sure. Before we did the work to the building, it was hotter than a firecracker in the summer and colder than a well-diggers arse in the Klondike, in the winter time. Nor do I. I don't like anything on the floor once she's finished whelping. After that, the only thing thats in the box is mama and her pups.
Post whelp, newspaper or anything else for that matter is pointless. Mama keeps everything cleaned up.

CJ & Ruff, I went to the flooring shop and bought a remnant roll for 10 bucks. Its not the hard lineolium type thats slick on top. Its more of a plyable soft kind. Since I just recently insulated and air conditioned our inside kennels, I no longer needed our 2x4 walled, fully insulated, rediculously heavy "Den" style whelping box. I have 3 of the DT-BL 509 small bird launchers. I love them. Don't worry, they have plenty of "Umph" to launch a pigeon. You could launch a small pheasant with one.
The DT launchers have some features that I really like. Can't go wrong with em. Although I am biased.
