I perfer a whistle without a pea. Where I hunt the temps can be around and below freezing for nearly half of the season. It has been my exp. that the whistles with a pea will freeze up and not make a sound.

Everybody has some very good arguments on what they feel is the most important command. Myself I think Whoa is the command of commands. But like some of the others on here have said, the best command is the one that works all the time. Most people just base all of their training of the Whoa command....

I agree with not using a choke chain. I would suggest using the Rick Smith lead. You can save yourself some money by going to the nearest ranch supply and buying a "piggin-string". If you don't know what it is just ask a clerk for help. I was really scepticle about it but it works very very well.

I voted pheasant because I hunt them so often and my dogs really get em'. If I had to rank the adversaries they would go, pheasant, chukar, sharptails, woodcock, huns and then anything else with feathers.
