Whats the fine on that. I was told here in my state non native game birds are ok to release and even shoot all year long. But for Bobwhites you need a license to own or breed.

Thanks , the backing dog does not pop up I stapled a metal stake to the back and I just stick her in the ground. I then lead the dog up to it. I saw my pro trainer do it this way. I did not want to spend all that money on a backing dog so I found a guy on the internet to blow up a picture of my dog rosie and I put it on plywood and cut it out. From 50 feet its hard to tell the fake dog. Check it out. cost $10

I went to eastern MT last year and hunted the block managment property using the guide book from the state and some local help. I thought it was great saw lots of birds I dont think you can go wrong. It is big though and it was hot, tough on the dog.

I did what you want to do last Sept. Drove from NY to Montana. Hunted public land. Had a blast best thing I ever did I plan on going for a month this year. I did not make two compartments in the pen, I made a spring loaded varmit resistant funnel. Although I may change it to two anyway we do have a varmit problem.
