This was suggested by a pro for use in a day when a dog may run two stakes, a long day of hunting where you might rest the dog in between, or in training where you may run the dog a couple of times especially during "horsebacking." I hope I am not putting anybody on the spost with specific branding...

I don't think you're going to improve a bit on collars, leashes, whistles, etc. Seems like the one that everyone is stumped by is the hunting coat and vest. They are not made for the electronic age. I think wingworks has the best vest on the market (haven't tried a Quilomene though) but even that, ...

5' x 10' and 6' x 12' seem to be pretty common. All 6 of mine are 6' x 12' and I really like them. I get the dogs out regularly for exercise, so they do just fine.

For most GSP owners, you would have to stay away from all the EP lines to breed outside what you have already...actually you may need to stay away from the setters too, as they made the EPs what they are today. :lol: :lol: :lol: Nitrex ... and for some of the pointer breeders they'd have to stay aw...

Heavy duty rubberbands...If you need to stop a badly cut tongue before a dog bleeds out, put a rubberband on it. I have a friend that saved a dogs life by doing this. Freak accidents happen, so be prepared to think creatively.

I see a lot of photos of GSP with their tails at 9-10 o'clock. When I look at the pedigrees, I often see VC, In. CH, UT, etc.. Second Update!!!! My friend and dog owner took the dog to a vet today for a second opinion. Mainly because the dog was schedule for a snake breaking class and a vet was present to see dogs and administer the snake vaccine for dogs needing it. The vet examined the dog today and interviewed the owner....

Update:

Vet saw the dog last night and believed it was the rattlesnake vaccine. Gave a megadose of "benedryl" and that seems to be helping. I will find out more this evening...

Problem I found with airlines is last year the standards changed. Adult dogs depending on breed cannot ship via air, the dog MUST be able to stand erect without the head touching the crate which means even for a small Pointer I had to buy a crate designed for a Great Dane. I guess it all depends on...

Got lucky tonight!!! I just received access to about 1200 acres of prime quail habitat for running the dogs. Went out for my first time and found the "mother load" of mushrooms. Came home and gained 10 pounds!!!!

I've had at least 2 unspayed females living in the house together for years. Never had a problem. I have introduced at least 4-5 female pups to the mix over the years. Most difficult issue I've ever had to deal with is the older female wanting to nurse the pup. Just my opinion...

I'd pass on both pups and find a great papered litter and then pick the pup I liked the most. I don't buy to many dogs, so when I pick, I pick the best I can get in my opinion.

Spring Fun!!

I took the pups out again yesterday for a little fun. Had a few good points. These are the 2 pups I kept out of my December litter. The sire is NC/FC/AFC Saddle's Lil Clown and the Dam is a daughter of 3x NC Rawhide's Clown. So far they are showing great run, hunt, independence, point, and retrieve....

I believe he would say that he gets better results and perhaps quicker results using the clicker with young dogs. Also, he no longer uses "compulsion" to get the dog to do what he ultimately desires. For example, during his show pup stage he is teaching the pups to go into the kennel because it work...

IMO -Why give a dog that may break point one more opportunity to be reinforced for breaking with a good chase. Variable reinforcements can kill you on further training. Also, you will have to put more pressure on the dog when you get home and try to take the chase back out of him, which in turn dimi...
