Combination of Breeds

There was a recent post about having success with two different breeds of hunting dogs. I figure most breeds can hunt successfully together given sufficient time or exposure but I suspect there are better combinations than others. So with that I am curious to hear what breed combinations fellow GDF ...

My buddy noticed about 50-75 whitehead bumps on his 2 yr old gsp this weekend. There are a lot of BlackBerry bushes, stickers, and thistles where we have been hunting. She doesn't scratch at them either. They pop just like a whitehead. He thinks it may be an allergic reaction to change in feed. Whic...

The old dog is a grouse finding/pointing machine, and is one of the few dogs I have hunted with that points the western forest grouse effectively. I think this is the key here: Healthy, up to date on all shots, on a good feed, and gets exercise both mental and physical. It sounds like you're doing all you can and if he is healthy, he should/will do all he can too. If your vet is worried, then I would be worried. Otherwise, just continue to lov...
