LVRGSP, I love Cecil dogs so much I have 2 Ruger pups laying around in the kennel right now. Neither one of them will run under 100 yards and they are 8 months old. I wouldn't trade either pup because I like a little go in them but Will said he wanted a 40-60 yard dog that will quarter. If this is w...

Will, If you want a dog to quarter 40-60 yards to the front and work back to the gun then you are looking at the wrong blood lines. The bloodlines you mentioned are bigger running dogs and depending on the breeding could be huge running dogs. Most gsp people are tickled to death with the bloodlines ...

20 weeks old is a time to expose the pup to as many different things as possible and hunting wild birds is the best exposure possible. Wild birds will teach a pup to point stauchly better than any checkcord or commands. You will know when your pup is ready for pressure training he will let you know ...

I would suggest the checkcord and instead of pulling straight back on the dog from behind to stop him, try and get to one side or the other and make a looping circle to stop him this keeps the pressure off of him and he also learns he can't catch the birds. How old is the pup? If he's knocking and c...

I fed diamond for 3 years and I like the results until they swapped formula's. The new formula made for loose stools and I can't have that when it comes time for clean up.

I now feed Exceed 30-20 from sams and I like the stools but the coats don't seem to look as good as they did on Diamond.

New kennel ???

I'm wanting to build a kennel at my home and was wondering how everyone built theirs. My plans so far are to build 4 or 5 runs with each run being 5 x 25 and I still debating on concrete or rock. What are the pro's and con's of the rock and concrete?

Thanks for the reply's in advance.
